High speed lathing

We machined a solid dowel of metal to fit inside the tubing of the frame and the axle adjuster forgings, called a slug. Here the top rail slug is installed. This will give the joined pieces enough strength to hold together after being welded.

We will heat up the lower frame rail to align it with the adjuster.

MACK TRUCK: GW had one of his Mack trucks spring a leak at the rear main. It was already turned undersize so Todd had to mill up a shim ring.
